Peak Gold Mines is committed to maintaining and improving the mining operations that have supported the Cobar district over the last 60 years.

In the current production plan, the mine life of Peak Mines extends to 2017. The life of mine plan strategy includes the progressive upgrading of resources and exploration targets into reserves at conservative rates.   Drilling has identified extensions to the New Occidental, Perseverance and Peak ore bodies.  Mine design in remnant areas around historic workings is progressing in the New Occidental, Peak, Chesney and New Cobar ore bodies.  Drilling at Perseverance Zone D has returned encouraging results. Further work is continuing in these areas.

Production from the underground Perseverance Zone D orebody began in the third quarter of 2009. The ore body is accessed via a decline developed from the existing Perseverance Zone A infrastructure and replaces the ore feed from the Perseverance Zone A. 

In conjunction with these studies, exploration is being expanded to realize the full potential of the Cobar region.
