The Mesquite Mine originally commenced operations in 1986 and has, over the last 23 years, been subject to significant exploration with over 6,000 reverse circulation drill holes having been completed during its life.

Recent exploration has been focused on the areas surrounding the three existing pits: Rainbow, Big Chief and Vista.
